New science and innovation laboratories open for the autumn term
Three purpose-built laboratories and a maker studio give students from Grade 6 upwards a place to test ideas and build prototypes.

Three purpose-built laboratories and a maker studio opened this autumn, giving students from Grade 6 upwards a dedicated place to test ideas, run experiments and build prototypes.
Designed for discovery
The new spaces were designed with teachers and students. Benches can be reconfigured for group work, glass walls let younger students see older ones at work, and a fabrication studio houses laser cutters, 3D printers and woodworking tools.
Open to every student
Head of Sciences Theo Karras says the goal is simple. “We want every student to experience the pleasure of making something work,” he said. “That is how a love of science begins.”
